Fábricas de Renovación

Purpose

The Technocratic Union, like their Tradition rivals, account for only a few members of the Awakened community in Puebla, Mexico. The priorities of the Technocracy tend to mean that only by proxy do the affairs of the Masses matter in regions like this (e.g., international organizations). But exceptions exist, especially in the realm of financial and industrial opportunity. The Fábricas de Renovación (Factories of Renewal), also known as Symposium #PI7621, represent those clever opportunists in this metropolis.

Because the dominant Reality Deviants in Puebla are Sabbat vampires, the Union noticed that most Sleeper institutions went without meddling. It appeared that these vampire-deviants held no interest in controlling mortal affairs in the city or state. The Union subtly stepped up. The city’s booming industrial centers provided the apt opportunity for all five Conventions, albeit especially the Syndicate, to take advantage of the city resources from behind the scenes. Shoe factories form the core of the Union’s interests in the city.

Though in many areas, the Union tends to play rough with RDs, the vampires in this city prove too powerful. The Technocracy tends to avoid conflict with its neighbors, superstitionists and monsters-that-go-bump-in-the-night alike. But filling the void the RDs leave helps fill the Union’s coffers. They build their powerbase. And someday, they may dismantle the RD organizations and run Puebla like the modern 21st-century city it deserves to be.

Naturally, the Union has not and would not join the Dominion of the God-House. It’s not even aware of its developing existence yet, and would likely remain ambivalent even if it did know.

Protocols

The Protocols of Damian are in standard effect. Despite blatant displays of Reality Deviance, the Technocrats avoid contact with Puebla’s supernatural population. They observe and record, acting only in self-defense.

Pogrom

The Pogrom is not underway in Puebla at all. The construct lacks the resources and manpower to carry out such a crusade. Prudence demands avoidance.

Special Events

Special events are annual (or more frequent) holidays or special ritual days that the main group or groups observe as a whole community. Attendance and participation are often expected of all members, and sometimes required.

Exintex Trade Fair
Annually held in April, the textiles-driven Exitex Trade Fair is the construct’s primary means of engaging with the international community beyond Puebla. Real networking happens face-to-face, after all, but few other investors and persons of interest visit Puebla except on business. This trade fair is of interest primarily to the Syndicate, as the dominant Convention in the city.
