Haunted Boulevards

Factions
Most wraiths in New Orleans call themselves freewraiths, owing allegiance to no group. However, such spirits take care when traveling about the necropolis, since the organizations that exist can be viciously territorial and paranoid about outsiders.
Guilds
Most of the Guilds are found in the New Orleans necropolis, but three are prominent enough to stake claims to entire districts. The Chanteurs have the gem of the Big Easy: their singers line Bourbon Street, inspiring or complimenting singers on the other side of the Shroud. The French Quarter is their claim, which is in eastern New Orleans neighboring the Mississippi River. In the Garden District south of the city along the river, the Sandmen hold out. In the St. Claude District to the east, found near the Bywater District, the Pardoners set up shop and invite their brethren to come find peace (for a price).
Heretics
More than any other groups, Heretics dominate the necropolis. The city’s religious beliefs and southern soul inspires a lot of impassioned thinking when it comes to the Afterlife! North of the city along Lake Pontchartrain, the Lakeshore District has spiraled into decadence with the Cult of Bacchus. Lakemen are also along the north by the lake in the Little Woods District more easterly of the city. Speakers of the Dead maintain their own Haunts on the West End District, northwest by the lake. Awakeners scheme towards Armageddon in the north-central area of town, not far from the canal, in the Gentilly District. The most powerful Heresy in New Orleans, however, sweeps up across the canal from the Holy Cross and Lower 9th Wards: the Host. These angel wannabes regularly descend on the Shadow and Skinlands, doing good as they see it…which isn’t always truly good.
Renegades
Renegades are particularly ornery in the New Orleans area, but luckily few in number for the rest of the general populace. In the northcentral area of the necropolis near the City Park (which is a frightening place even for a wraith at night due to the Tempestspawn that roam), the Smoky Chains gang has claimed the Fillmore District. StormRiders berth in the Leonidas District, west end of the city near the only Byway out. On the extreme opposite end of town, in the Lake Catherine District, which is on the tip of the peninsula along the lake, the Bayou Bushmen frighten off just about everyone dead or alive from their Haunts.
