The Kwannon-jin


Any of the hirayanu or kamuii as found in the supplement, Land of Eight Million Dreams, may be played. Any “temper” may be played as well, although no character who begins the Chronicle younger than his mid-teens will be accepted.

In addition to the ten most common families of Shinma, ten other less common "breeds" of hirayanu exist. Please refer to the following webpage for details. Players may use a character from any kwannon-jin although limitations may be placed if too many of the following "uncommon" variety are chosen.

The new kwannon-jin described below were created on the reference points mentioned in the Land of Eight Million Dreams regarding the hirayanu. The five hirayanu depicted in that book were not the only five kwannon-jin of their type -- they were just by far the most common. Others exist in the Middle Kingdom, and it can be suggested that the ten detailed below are the next most common. Many of these Shinma exist in small numbers or isolated territories -- or both. They are rare creatures, numbering a race that dwindles entirely.

It should be noted that there are only five kamuii kwannon-jin and only would be five. However, kamuii can have a better communion with their respective elements (c.f., House Rules).
