The Court of the Ebon Flame
Outlooks
The following can be construed as unofficial policy towards the other factions of the Coalition as well as supernaturals in the city abroad. It may also be construed simply as personal opinions of the Court leaders. Regardless, all Courtiers are made aware of these statements one way or another, and it’s rarely prudent to defy a Court elder.
Below each description of sentiment lists a status category that sums up general feelings towards the Court or agency in question. Those feelings may or may not be shared on a similar level; visit other factional pages for other factions’ feelings. The possible sentiment categories include: good, tolerance, neutral, antipathy, and hatred.
The Court of Emerald Eyes: The hsien are walking temptations. Stay away from them, because if you succeed in feasting upon their “golden chi” for false enlightenment, you will be excruciated and executed far before they get their hands on what’s left of your corpse.
Status: Neutral
The Court of Shooting Stars: The chi’n ta are powerful mortals but mortals still. Nonetheless, their leader is a pinnacle example of their potential. They are dragonflies while she is a dragon. She is well-renowned for slaying Kin-jin and guiding her comrades to do the same; keep her between we and the Western devils and we will all get along fine.
Status: Neutral
The Court of Bamboo Talons: By and large, their interests lie outside the city proper and ours within. This is a favorable condition that should remain and be encouraged, though only if necessary.
Status: Neutral
The Court of the Silver Censer: These spirits of Yin would throw off the ancient shackles of the Yellow Springs. That is their business and not ours. It would not benefit us to invite a powerful entity like the Jade Kingdom into Little Asia, particularly when we can gain more from these wraiths who are finally beginning to favor us again.
Status: Tolerance
The House of Yizhi: So, we see that the Shih did not gain much wisdom since the Scattering of the Celestial Army. For here they begin to gather again. They would watch us like policemen, these mortals with no comprehension of the Road Back. We are watching them for the first sign of that damning arrogance, and no Coalition alliance will stop us from putting them back the way they were decreed to be ages ago -- even if it means killing all but one.
Status: Antipathy
The Kin-jin: These Western barbarians have no concept of enlightenment. Though we have not declared Midnight War (as they do not have the honor for Shadow War) on the Kin-jin, neither are we their friends. We will remain isolated while we build our bases of power so that we may unleash a single precise and deadly assault when the time is ripe.
Status: Antipathy
