The House of Yizhi

Introduction

When the shen began to trickle into Little Asia, the Shih back in the Orient grew concerned. Rumors passed between these lone warriors in passing about the immigration of the supernatural creatures. How would this affect the balance of the world? The dangers had to be ascertained and besides, not even America would help a shen escape the watchful eyes of the Shih. Some Shih followed the shen to the West, settling wherever the supernatural settled -- including Little Asia, Kansas City.

Ting An, a masterful follower of the ways of Yi, helped establish the Court of Infinite Ages. It was with the understanding that the protection of humanity and observation of proper harmony were the Court's ultimate duties. With the Court’s dissolution, these oh-so-aware mortals grew leery about their new juxtaposition between the Courts. Though these mortals scarcely needed the “celestial” organization the shen preferred, they knew some structure was appropriate.

So the House of Yizhi was formed to provide the necessary shelter. Though a loose organization, the Coalition of Little Asia acknowledges and demonstrates respect for the House of Yizhi. The term yizhi is a Chinese word with multiple meanings. It can mean to be “straight”, “consistent”, or “synchronized”. It can also mean to “cure” or “heal”. And it can mean “willpower” or “self-restraint”. All members of the House seek to provide and benefit from these concepts.
