The House of Yizhi

Outlooks

The following can be construed as unofficial policy towards the other factions of the Coalition as well as supernaturals in the city abroad. It may also be construed simply as personal opinions of the Court leaders. Regardless, all Courtiers are made aware of these statements one way or another, and it’s rarely prudent to defy a Court elder.

Below each description of sentiment lists a status category that sums up general feelings towards the Court or agency in question. Those feelings may or may not be shared on a similar level; visit other factional pages for other factions’ feelings. The possible sentiment categories include: good, tolerance, neutral, antipathy, and hatred.

The Court of Emerald Eyes: The hsien may or may not be happy about their inheritance. But no matter how righteous they may think and act, we will -- we must -- watch them.

Status: Tolerance

The Court of Bamboo Talons: The hengeyokai…for all their environmentalism and spiritual greatness, they still set the blame bags on humanity and therefore us. Some of them, instead of trying to help the world they claim they love so much, would rather attack that which they blame. Those who are not so homicidal don’t do much to restrain their brethren, considering themselves somehow better than other people. When the more psychopathic beast-folk step out of line, more often than not it is we who will have to rectify the situation.

Status: Neutral

The Court of Shooting Stars: The sorcerors consider themselves human and that’s good because that’s what they are. However, many of them end up considering themselves better than human. They must be watched for signs of this damning pride.

Status: Tolerance

The Court of the Silver Censer: People who have died sometimes linger on. These lost souls are caught between two worlds but it doesn’t mean they’re confused or wicked. It just means dharma has more in store for them before they move onto their final destination. Because they are shen, we must watch them as best as we can to insure that these ghosts too aren’t stepping out of line.

Status: Neutral

The Court of the Ebon Flame: The Hungry Dead pursue enlightenment but I find it hard to call their twisted perceptions enlightened. But all that we have learned points to the fact that these vampires are to find inner harmony again, and perhaps that’s what they’re doing. All we can do is keep it from boiling over into unnecessary wickedness, and to cull the corrupt.

Status: Neutral

Western Hunters: Well, people in America and the West in general have this idea about human supremacy in this world. When they find out that there’s “something else” out there, they tend to go ballistic. I can’t lie and say we from Asia do not share similar ideas, but we also understand that Heaven made everything: even Hell. And it all has a place. Perhaps in the West, Hell’s only purpose is to give overzealous crusaders something to do. That is not how it is in the East, and we will defend even the shen from this blindness should it come to Little Asia.

Status: Neutral

The Kin-jin: The Kin-jin are supernatural creatures that are no doubt part of some celestial plan in spite of what the other shen believe. What that plan may be, I can’t say. All I know is that their place is not domination over humanity, and certainly not in Little Asia.

Status: Antipathy
