Oka Bathhouse (fitness center)

A Japanese tradition in particular, the Oka Bathhouse caters to the people of Little Tokyo especially despite its location in Chinatown. While anyone of any heritage, creed, or color is welcome, the building’s design is quite Japanese. Certain signs and door labels are even written in Japanese only. The Bathhouse is not easily spotted casually, however. The building’s brick storefront blends in next to its coin-op laundromat and convenience store neighbors. No windows display what lies beyond the wood door. Inside, a receptionist receives clients and points them in the right direction. There are no “private baths”. One large room with six pool-like tubs caters up to thirty guests an hour. Spacious changing rooms for men and women connect visitors to this main bathroom. Despite the grungy exterior, the tile floors and white concrete walls are kept very clean and dry. The bathhouse offers assistant bathers of both genders. The women’s toplessness can fool non-Japanese into believing them promiscuous. Traditional folk think better; but rumor still has it that the bathers have their price. Perhaps that’s due to the rumor that local yakuza make frequent use of Oka Bathhouse…

OOC: No security is present during open hours of 11 AM to 6 PM. Reservations are required and a standard usage fee of $50 per person, per hour, applies. This includes the fee for one bathing assistant (per person), whether the assistant is wanted or not. Of course, a bather can decline their actual presence - but the fee is non-negotiable (unless one believes the rumors that paying more gets more…).
