Blue Dragon Brewery (factory)

Made in the USA, its location in Little Asia comes due solely to the company's local owners that live in the district. The Blue Dragon beer brands demonstrate a wide variety of contrasts and potencies. Although only a fan of beer can enjoy Blue Dragon brand, its label is known throughout America as a small but rich alternative brand to major labels. The brewery reflects this limited but widespread popularity in the factory's size. Engulfing an entire city block, the buildings brew, pack, and ship directly to wholesalers. The facilities are fenced off from public, of course. But beyond the secure perimeter, passers view the four main buildings of brick and tile. The buildings -- brewing, packing, shipping, and administrative -- all have their front walls sheathed in a bronze overlay with the beer label's design imprinted: a slithering, wingless dragon lightly painted deep blue. Within the large buildings, one will find equipment, storage, and states of cleanliness one would expect of the building's purpose. The parking lot is half devoted to many employees' vehicles, and half to their shipping trucks, the trailers blue with a golden Oriental dragon on either side. The Brewery's success remains steady and evident. Try a taste of Little Asia's success!

OOC: The Brewery is closed to public -- no tours. The facilities run all day and everyday.

Blue River Taxi Service (cab headquarters)

Fenced off from public, this taxi service headquarters includes a huge garage space, an expansive parking lot, and a squat administrative building. Light-red brick and concrete fade into the dreary, gray warehouse district. The old structures seem run-down and even ramshackle. That contrasts with the fresh Blue River cabs themselves. Cerulean sedans (Honda Accords) with the service name in traditional taxi yellow can be seen all over Little Asia and the city. Over one hundred Blue River cabs stream through this base everyday. And recently, under new ownership, Blue River Taxis added a few mini-vans to their service. Rumor of more options to come mills through the works.

OOC: The service base is off-limits to non-personnel. Drivers, mechanics, and administrators work here everyday, all day.

Huisheng Stereos (factory)

One of Little Asia's most successful industries, Huisheng Factories has been producing radios for the past thirty years. Although the neighborhood in which this factory rests has seen better days, Huisheng maintains a clean, up-to-date appearance. A short perimeter fence and locked doors keep non-employees out. A spacious parking lot for employee vehicles and trailer trucks paves next door. The brick structure houses a huge set-up where stereo parts are assembled, boxed, and shipped out to wholesalers. All kinds of sound systems are produced at Huisheng. Huisheng makes alarm clock radios, boomboxes, full-fledged home entertainment systems, DJ equipment, and audio recording devices.

OOC: Closed to the public. Shifts run all day and everyday. One security guard is on duty at all times.

Smith-Hidaka Bottled Water (factory)

Yet another factory in Little Asia's industrial zone, only the locally-famous bottled water is produced here. The spring water is filtered, tested, bottled, labeled, packaged, and shipped straight from this factory to merchants across the city. The factory is fenced off from the dirty streets of the district. Beyond the fence, the small company's shipping trucks are evident. Beyond lie the factory's white concrete walls and wide glass ceiling panels. In fact, the factory is solar-powered. From this production line comes the twenty-ounce plastic bottle of sparkling, fresh spring water. The royal purple label, inscribed with white writing, and a red outline of a mountain range, signifies the city's favorite brand of bottled water.

OOC: The factory produces Nekoko's "special recipe" of water. It is under regular watch and guard to prevent tampering by shen of any sort.

Lotus Petals Production Facilities (factory)

Not far down the block from Smith-Hidaka Bottled Water's plant sits another factory that Nekoko owns. And its production line is likewise as limited. Like the water bottling plant, this factory is unusual in its solar power-based energy. Aside from the perfume-making equipment instead of water, this factory is nearly identical to its slightly older brother.

Weilan Catholic Schools (private schools)

Grades 1-12 are available for Catholic families' children in this large urban school. Expanding down a full city block and two stories high, Weilan is a pleasant addition to this somewhat poorer section of Little Asia. The streets tend to be grimy and nearby buildings rundown. A tall cobble wall separates the narrow front schoolyards from the rest of the neighborhood. A guard-operated electronic fence opens into the school's spacious parking lot. A small playground and football field rest behind the large brick building. A small chapel stands attached to the school building, made from wood and painted white. Stained glass brightens the Weilan Chapel. But the school hosting over a thousand students and a hundred faculty members seems much more busy than the traffic in or out of the chapel. The school doors welcome students, teachers, and cleared visitors into the sanctified halls of Weilan Schools.

Entire wings are dedicated to the grade and middle school levels. The upper floor is geared mainly towards high schoolers. Weilan's classrooms are typical of most public schools. The primary differences include the crucifixes that hang below the wall clocks, and the uniform clothing of all students. Weilan has an excellent reputation for graduating smart students despite the school's limited funding and disreputable neighborhood. Like all Catholic schools, students graduate with a firm knowledge of society's moral as well as academic expectations.

OOC: Weilan meets most school's standard hours from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Students may stay for numerous different extracurricular activities, tutelage, or guidance until 5 PM. Faculty rarely stays later than 6 PM. The doors open to faculty at 7 AM while students are permitted past the fence at 7:30 AM for morning prayer at the chapel, if they so wish. A security guard watches the only gate that enters into the parking lot from open to close.
