The Court of the Silver Censer
Outlooks
The following can be construed as unofficial policy towards the other factions of the Coalition as well as supernaturals in the city abroad. It may also be construed simply as personal opinions of the Court leaders. Regardless, all Courtiers are made aware of these statements one way or another, and it’s rarely prudent to defy a Court elder.
Below each description of sentiment lists a status category that sums up general feelings towards the Court or agency in question. Those feelings may or may not be shared on a similar level; visit other factional pages for other factions’ feelings. The possible sentiment categories include: good, tolerance, neutral, antipathy, and hatred.
The Court of Emerald Eyes: The hsien know little about us and largely avoid us. That suits us fine, as they don’t seem to have anything worth offering.
Status: Neutral
The Court of Shooting Stars: Though we are told some wizards are dangerous mortals indeed, we have found that the shinta of the Court of Shooting Stars have always been our most trustworthy allies. Together, living and dead, we may make this city a safe place at long last.
Status: Good
The Court of the Bamboo Talons: Like the hsien, the hengeyokai avoid us, and occasionally seek to placate us as if we were the spirits of their ancestors. Perhaps some of us are. But by and large, we have little dealings with these beast-folk.
Status: Neutral
The Court of the Ebon Flame: The Hungry Dead tend to behave indifferently towards us. Since the expulsion of their more foolish members, we have had little difficulty with these vampires. Indeed, we are covering grounds and may become allies. However, those of Chinese heritage may not be trustworthy. Tales speak of ancient alliances between the Chinese vampires and ghosts. We must be very careful.
Status: Tolerance
The House of Yizhi: These mortals would police all shen in the Coalition and district. How they expect to police us when they can rarely even see us, never mind affect us, is beyond comprehension. But we are quite capable of policing ourselves anyway.
Status: Neutral
The Dark Kingdoms: The empires of Charon and Yu Huang are both cursed creations. They are merely extensions of autocratic madmen and are nothing but a threat to all that is correct in the afterlife. The Fist of Nippon demonstrates how their armies are not needed to secure a domain and why their butchery and slavery is worse than any mortal ruler ever demonstrated.
Status: Hatred
The Renegades: Most of these Renegade Gangs are nothing but rabble-rouser trash and they will be taken out like the garbage if they bring their mindless antics into Little Asia. Those who mind the peace will be left alone, but most can’t seem to help but act like idiots.
Status: Antipathy
The Guilds: The Guilds…we know little of these institutions. Apparently, they are part of some sort of Western heresy. That does not sound like it would bode well for the harmony of our district, although we are considered heretics for refusing to acknowledge Yu Huang as our sovereign emperor. Perhaps we have something in common, but what I have heard is that these wraiths are scheming and insane. They are better avoided, perhaps, and left to their devices outside of this district.
Status: Neutral
The Kin-jin: Although the other shen may hate these vampires, we do not. However, we certainly don’t like them either. We’re simply aware of their inability to do much about us. The few who possess necromantic powers have proven dangerous and barbaric; we actively hunt these fools down to see to their destruction. We’re also aware that these are the minority. The rest mean little to us.
Status: Antipathy
