Temple of Eternal Light

The Temple of Eternal Light is a cosmopolitan Traditions chantry with old links (and possibly a portal) to Horizon. Every Tradition finds a home here, though some are more prevalent than others. Order of Hermes, especially the sub-House of Flambeau, House Apollo, is ruling the roost. Verbena support both the chantry’s overall goals and the restoration of pagan belief and ideology, especially the essence of the heroic (and often bloody) Saga. Cultists of Ecstasy, especially the Hagalaz, are prime partners with the Wyck. In fact, a small cabal of Sons of Wotan serve as the chantry’s primary contingent of defense, having proved themselves in battle against all manner of foes over the years (even as such wars whittle down their numbers). A few Klubwerkers may be drawn to the Finnish metal scene. Celestial Choristers are also found; there’s a minor conflict between Septarians and Latitudinarians. Dreamspeakers of a Sámi heritage member this chantry, too. Virtual Adepts and Sons of Ether alike are attracted to Oulu’s tech refuge. Euthanatoi and Akashic Brothers are the least commonly presented in this chantry.

Chantryhouse
A pagan temple called the Midsummer Stars Association (after the Perseids meteor showers quite visible in August), known as Keskikesän Tähdet in Finnish, serves as their prime base. It is a wooden longhouse constructed at the base of the moraines in Rokua National Park, which lies about 50 miles to the southeast of Oulu. The longhouse contains ample bedding, both private suites for the masters and adepts, and commonroom bunking for the disciples. A great room facilitates chantry meetings. Numerous wooden outbuildings enable magickal rituals with sheltered covering (and may double as Sanctums). Plenty of notable and unusual geological features, like drumlins, eskers, peat bogs, and kettle hole ponds, provide ample natural environment for both magick and disposal of illicit activities.

Nodes
The Temple of Eternal Light boasts one potent Node. Syvyydenkaivo, called the “Well of the Depths”, is a kettle hole pond over 160 feet deep. The ancient sediment of the pond dates back millions of years and its unseen bottom is a reserve of immense primordial power. The Keskikesän Tähdet is built on its shore and the mages keep a very, very close eye on their treasure.

Defenses
An enchantment has been laid on Syvyydenkaivo. Anyone, supernatural or not, who gazes into its depths for too long falls into a hypnotic state and plunges headfirst into the depths. Such bodies are unrecoverable. Keskikesän Tähdet itself, as well as many of its outbuildings, has likewise been enchanted. However, their enchantments generate a general sense of vagary and irrelevance to all passersby. The wooden structures have also been magickally reinforced against fire damage, coincidentally explained by the dampening presence of snow on rooftops that unsurprisingly survives the summer and never melts.

Backgrounds & Characters
All members gain the Chantry Background at ***. The chantry commands a single Level 4 Node. The Syvyydenkaivo Node represents the Entropic force of immaculacy. It is so pure, in fact, that it acts as Rite of Cleansing (c.f., Werewolf). Some Garou loremasters are aware of its legend and occasionally visit or instruct other werewolves to visit, which has caused problems!

Custos
Few custos are permitted and require special admission from the masters before being allowed on temple grounds.
